Food & Trees for Africa
Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA) is a leading Section 21 Non-Profit Organisation that addresses food security, environmental sustainability, and greening. Its core purpose is to improve lives and landscapes for healthy people on a healthier planet. They have a large and diverse programme portfolio with programmes active across South Africa since 1990.
Greenpop
Greenpop focuses on sustainable urban greening and forest restoration projects, spreading environmental awareness, and activates people to become environmental stewards across Sub-Saharan Africa.
TEARS Animal Rescue
Tear's mission is to provide a sanctuary for companion animals in need, striving to end homelessness, neglect and abuse in the communities they serve through medical assistance, humane education, rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming.
Qhubeka
Qhubeka is a global charity that moves people forward with bicycles in Africa. People earn bicycles through our programmes, improving their access to schools, clinics and jobs. A bicycle is a tool that helps people to travel faster and further, generate income and carry more. In the face of extreme and persistent poverty, bicycles can change lives by helping to address socioeconomic challenges at the most basic level – helping people to get where they need to go.
FOUR PAWS in South Africa
Four Paws is the global animal welfare organisation for animals under direct human influence, which reveals suffering, rescues animals in need and protects them. Their vision is a world where humans treat animals with respect, empathy and understanding.
Justice 4 Jaws
Justice 4 Jaws’ focus is to educate the youth of South Africa by sharing factual, scientific information about sharks. The aim of this is to ultimately alter the negative perceptions of this species, in addition to offering ways in which the South African youth and environmentally conscious individuals can assist with the conservation of South African sharks (and rays).
ORCA Foundation
The ORCA Foundation is part of a volunteer community dedicated to marine conservation in South Africa, and like many conservation projects depends on the willingness of others to contribute their time and dedication to furthering the volunteer and conservation ethics that go hand in hand for a better future.
TUSK
Tusk was established in 1990 in response to the poaching crisis of the 1980s, which pushed black rhinos to the brink of extinction and saw 100,000 elephants slaughtered each year. Since then they have become a highly effective and efficient force in African wildlife conservation.
Surfpop
Surfpop is a registered non-profit organization, founded by Daniel Botha in 2015. Daniel discovered surfing, fell in love, and the rest is history. As he spent most of his free time on his surfboard in the ocean, closely connected to nature, surfing became a life-changing experience for him. As a surf enthusiast, he had a strong desire to share his passion for surfing and the ocean with at-risk children and youth from disadvantaged communities who do not have the same opportunities he had during his childhood.
SANParks
The SANParks Honorary Rangers volunteer organisation is open to people with a passion for nature and a dedication to supporting the South African National Parks. They facilitate various activities through which the public can become involved in support of SANParks and enjoy the wonder of South Africa's natural heritage.
